Bringer of Light and Wonder
I was inspired by a painted tapestry by Edith Hamlin from 1949, titled "The Turquoise Goddess and the Warrior Twins." It hangs in the Arizona Biltmore Hotel. It made me remember my love of Kachina Dolls as a child and the way they used stylized designs to represent items such as the sun or rain clouds.
This was my first attempt at using Photoshop for digital painting. I wanted to give the elements a different feel from each other so I combined Illustrator drawing along with keeping the original drawing visible at the bottom.
