A while ago I was asked to create illustrations for a book. The author asked me to draw characters based on his written descriptions. I used watercolours, pens and pencils, after sketching out some ideas and deciding on the final design. These are the characters I painted.

The author also asked to me to paint a map of the world the book is set in. I decided to make this in the same style and media as the characters. I first practiced and drew a map using pens only, in a more graphic style. Here is the finished map and the initial practice sketch.
