  • 'Life in Atacama' is a hand woven blanket designed for Susan Sklarek's Weaving 01 Class. This project was inspired by the breathtaking phenomenon, rare flower blooming, in the world's driest desert, Atacama Desert, Chile. Atacama Desert is so dry that scientists use it as a way to gain insight about what life and living conditions might be possible on Mars. It is truly amazing how plants try to sustain their lives even in the worst possible condition.
