Urban Flooding Awareness through Public Art

Urban Flooding Awareness Through Public Art
Climate Change is real and it is here. Rising temperatures coupled with the increasing urbanization and concretization our metropolis are a cause for concern. With cities being covered increasingly with impermeable surfaces like concrete and tarmac, there is no place for the rainwater to runoff. This increases the threat of Urban Flooding in such cities. The aim of this installation is to create awareness among people about the consequences of Urban Flooding. The umbrella protecting the city is a metaphor for the green spaces. This installation is meant to convey the importance of green grey architecture and the role of green spaces as a buffer against Urban Flooding.
