Representational Negative Space:

The goal of this project was to create a sculpture that represents the area around an object or event. 

The question is whether it is possible to represent negative space truthfully while still making the event/object recognizable. I believe that, especially in the case of a moving event, negative space is not recognizable. It becomes a kind of abstraction, a dissolution of form. 

This sculpture is the product of that idea. The instigating event was the spin of a ballet dancer.
