Rejected by the world of humans, Nyna dove deep into the ocean where she could peacefully drown in her tears. After many years alone in its darkness, she began to explore the underwater world when she eventually fell upon the eyes of Neptune. Nyna became infatuated with Neptune and considered him a god; she willingly chained herself to his side. One day, however, a ship’s helm fell into the ocean, scraping her limbs but also severing her chains. She realized that she had sacrificed her freedom for a false sense of love and acceptance that she had not gained from the world above. Nyna escaped Neptune’s kingdom and found a quiet reef where she could heal, finding pieces of lost bottle-green glass that she sanded to shape her broken limbs. Nowadays she swims freely, but is rarely sighted…
