Enchante is a premium sub brand of Cocoatrait. Representing Indian chocolates across the globe, the brand's vision is to bring the best fine chocolates to consumers for their appreciation.
The design brief was particularly challenging as the client wanted something different other than the illustration being focused on the main ingredient - the cocoa bean itself.
So we decided to weave the story around the interesting and wacky flavor combination that the brand is known for among its clients.
The design process therefore evolved purely on the basis of synergy of colors that resonates with the four broad classification of taste of chocolates.
The process zoned down to taste and ultimately the color that naturally gets associated with the particular taste.
The initial step was classification of taste which included these four broad categories: earthy, spicy, molasses and fruity and the colors associated were green, orange, blue and pink respectively. The gradations were then derived based on the combination of the colors associated with the different flavors. The limited edition has a play of foiling along with the gradation as well!






Dark chocolate: The base color chosen was that of blue co-relating to the flavor profile of molasses. The flavor combinations were predominantly fruity and molasses. The gradations therefore involved a lot of deep pink, blue and purple tones, with highlights of ocher for text
Milk chocolate: The base color chosen was that of green co-relating to the flavor profile of Earthy.  The flavor combinations was rather an equal mix of earthy, fruity and molasses. The gradations therefore involved a good balance of both the warm and the cool tones ranging from shades of ochre to light blue to hot pink .
White chocolate: The base color chosen was that of pink co-relating to the flavor profile of fruity. The flavor combinations were mostly spicy and fruity with a fair bit of molasses and earthy as well. The gradations therefore involved a majority of warm tones including shades of oranges, with hints of blue, purple and green.
The limited edition:  The base color chosen was that of orange co-relating to the flavor profile of spicy. The gradation was marked with a foiled 'e' mark that stands for enchante, denoting that the each of the chocolate bars are limited edition.
