Platypus when first discovered were thought to be a hoax, having the feet and bill of a duck, the body of an otter, and the tail of beaver. The platypus was real, and is quite a unique animal in the mammal kingdom. In conclusion the platypus is only indigenous to Australia and lives most of its life in the water.
