Futakuchi Onna -Yokai-
A young woman, suffering from anorexia. Her body slowly dying decided that it was enough and created an other mouth at the back of her head, using her hair to feed it. Which caused a lot of pain either physical and psychological. The young woman too scared to eat again, tries to stop her body by sewing and closing this new mouth with a red string. This way, she lives in a constant fight between what her body needs, her fears and pain.
This Illustration was imaginated for a projection in a museum twice as big as a human, in a very dark room.
I decided to make a bit more contemporary version of this yokai based on a huge problem of our society: the self-love and the suffering from anorexia.

Une jeune femme, souffrant d'anorexie. Son corps à la dérive créa une nouvelle bouche à l'arrière de son crâne et utilise ses cheveux pour se nourrir, causant ainsi une grande douleur à la fois physique et psychologique. La jeune femme effrayée de se nourrir à nouveau, essaye d'arrêter cette bouche en la recousant avec un fil roug, tombant ainsi dans un combat constant entre ce dont son corps a besoin, ses peurs et la douleur.
Cette illustration a été imaginée pour une possible projection dans un musée, avec le personnage 2 fois plus grand qu'un humain, le tout dans une pièce sombre.
J'ai notamment fait le choix de faire une version plus contemporaine de ce Yokai au travers d'un problème important de nôtre société: l'amour de soit et la souffrance dû à l'anorexie.
