O B J E C T I V E : Create a poster for the annual end of the semester Open Studios event for SDSU’s School of Art and Design.
S O L U T I O N : Each year, the SDSU School of Art and Design close the semester by hosting an Open Studio event that showcases a large variety of student work across all departments. Myself and fellow students were tasked with creating visually dynamic posters to help create awareness and increase attendance to the event. For my design, I wanted to touch on multiple aspects of the event including the wide range of departments showcased, the season the event is held (Spring), and the overall creativity the event encapsulates. I arranged, by hand, a bouquet composed of flowers and real tools from some of the departments on campus. The tagline “Fresh & Local” is meant to express that the event offers new, fresh ideas from the students.
