THE BRIEF: "You will spend two taught days, visualising imaginative responses to a given short story, exploring your own visual language, its suitability to the text and rigorously testing its effectiveness as a mode of communication and story-telling. You will use your sketchbook to develop ideas – you will edit, refine and re-do. You will investigate composition, character and lettering, and conduct thorough research into key examples in this field."
