The following articles of clothing were inspired by my mother's childhood in Poland, and my connection to her through visiting the countryside in Southern Poland every Summer. I incorporated 70's fashion trends in Poland, while also attending to the humble and nurturing memories we each experienced in Poland during our adolescence. Through making these garments, I examined what my mother's identity extended to beyond the roles of a mother and wife. I explored how our personalities and personal philosophies relate to one another, and what kind of woman she was when she was twenty.
