A decade of work at the NBA
During my ten years at the NBA, I worked on over 500 projects.  Here are a handful that I designed, art directed and illustrated.
Created in 1993, the ILTG logo was supposed to have a lifespan of less than three years and lasted for much, much longer - a version was adapted in 2001 after the 9/11 attacks to read "I STILL Love This Game!".
The illustration for a folder that held materials for the NBA Retired Players Association.
One of the early ads I created for NBA.com
A public service ad for NBA's Team Up community service initiative, shot at an elementary school in Oakland.  I waited two days to get Antawn for five minutes!
The concept for a secondary road uniform for the Knicks that eventually became their primary road uniform.
The alternate raod uniform for the Milwaukee Bucks.  Buck illustration by Dick Sakahara.
The concept for a new referee's uniform.  Never used, I still think it looks better than what they wear even today.
Samantha was an imaginary behind-the-scenes reporter for NBA.com.  I imagined her as a "That Girl" kind of person, thus the direct ripoff from the series titles.
Another concept that was never used but that I believe is better than what the league used.
Another ad and poster for NBA Team Up, the league's community service initiative.
This was originally my concept board for a joint WNBA/Gillette campaign, but it was so well received it was actually used.
One of my last projects with the NBA in 2002, Toys R Us accurately predicted the NBA Finals teams - six months before they occurred!  My last NBA game as an employee was watching the Nets play the Lakers in the 2002 NBA Finals at the Meadowlands.
