SHARED HISTORY
A short looping video, showing how the glass blurs and obscures the form of all objects reflected on the surface.
In-situation renderings of the monoliths in the forecourt space, giving the audience a better understanding of how these monoliths would appear under different lighting conditions.
A collaborative project between University of Technology, Sydney and Sydney Living Museums. Shared History is a set of proximity-triggered monoliths, created with the intention of exploring interactions and relationships between the First People and First Colonists that arrived in 1789. Placed onto the forecourt of The Museum of Sydney as a means of creating engagement with the audience.

Each of the 13 monoliths act as a glimpse into history while prompting the audience to question their own place in the face of history and how these events have shaped their surroundings. Through the use of specific materials, Shared History communicates the significance of human interaction starting with the individual; the dark glass obscuring their form into a blurred semblance of self and the Red Gum employed as a reminder of the land in which all of these events took place.
