In most cases, the search represented as a bar where the user can type the search query. And then the back-end responds with a list of the search results. While it seems like a simple element of the user interface, the search feature can have dozens of edge cases (e.g., no results, suggested results, recent search, no internet connection, etc.). All of them have to be considered during the design process.
