The Bit
I see a relationship between the way that a woman's body is manipulated by a speculum, putting her bodily control in the hands of another person, with an awkward, uncomfortable device; and the way a horse's bridle also occupies a tender orifice of the body, to allow the rider control over the horse's movement.
3-d model for a hybridized object that is a combination between a speculum and a horse head.
The 3-D PLA print, covered in wax, gated and sprued for the lost-wax aluminum pour, pre-slurry.
Cast aluminum form, result of the lost-wax method of casting the 3-d PLA print, seen above.
