For my design class, we were asked to create a drawing machine, thus, I decided to create something personal.  My drawing machine writes the word "حر" which is an Arabic word that means free/ freedom in your decisions.

The drawing machine projects a contradiction between the technical and controlled mechanism of the machine, with that of the words meaning.  The nature of machine isn't associated with freedom, thus, having these two contrasting ideologies and meaning is what distinguishes this machine.

I also chose to have the Arabic word be written abstractly as a way of expressing it's meaning, as well as to continue exemplifying the contrast between a machine's role and expectation to create a precise copy of the original object, with the abstract free nature of the Arabic word itself.
