CLASSIC PLAY TITLE SEQUENCE: MACBETH
This project was meant to show a sort of synopsis of the classical play, Macbeth by William Shakespeare. The assignment had to be around a one minute title sequence with one required quote .
I learned the importance of storyboarding and process in the duration of this project. Key ideas are crucial in such projects and nailing the imagery well is also important.
I extracted key elements such as symbols and themes from the play as it progresses. I looked at dark and light imagery. I overlaid Lady Macbeth's soliloquy in Act 1, Scene 5 throughout the video and showed her scene in the first frame and progressed to the three witches prophecies as well as the bloody hand imagery. Finally I tried to incorporate Macbeth's quote and imagery about "Life's but a walking shadow.."
I wanted to create the video in a very clean and cut-out collage geometric minimalistic style. I also played with masking a variety of textures.
