I was asked by a club I'm involved in, the Eckerd College MakerSpace, to plan and build a workbench to be used in metalworking. The bench would be taking a beating, as it was to be used in blacksmithing, and would be outside. The workbench was designed in CAD using Fusion 360 and built to be sturdy. It features two drawers and a bench top made of three mating 2x9's. The drawers are to be made out of 3/4" plywood and the rest of the bench out of pine construction lumber with the legs made of pine 4x4's.
