Tierra
Tierra is a handwoven wall piece part of the Macro Series. It is a double cloth triple block weave structure made on a 24 harness dobby loom.
Macro Series Statement
“Macro” explores microscopic worlds and focused observation from nature. We tend to look at the whole without questioning the intricate beauty of how its made and the complexity that makes it. “Macro” magnifies these micro worlds and tries to draw attention through elaborate enlarged views inviting the viewer to get close. It discovers textures and colors of networks and microstructures that we overlook for not getting close enough. The lines evolve to shapes and the shapes become forms and textures that become part of something larger.
