Penn State Football | 2018 NFL Draft

2018 NFL Draft

The 2018 Draft Package utilized Penn State's navy blue & the NFL teams' colors to represent a time of transition from college football to the professional ranks. The extra punch of color also helped the NFL Draft content to stand out from our day-to-day work on social, while still representing Penn State in a consistent manner on social media.

There were 15+ player-based graphics with 32 options (for the NFL teams) so we could be prepared for anything that came our way on Draft night. That's a total of 480 possible combinations. While it was a lot of work on the front end, it helped make us much more quick & efficient during Draft coverage on social media. Penn State Athletics Graphic Designer, Nick Santangelo played a role in prepping assets for all of the different possibilities.
As you can see, the extra punch of color on each piece really brought our Instagram feed to life. When visitors scroll back through our content on Instagram, this will surely make them stop and pay attention.
The above graphic was a collaboration between Penn State Athletics student intern, Vinny Nardella & myself.  As in the past, Vinny completed the jersey swaps of draftees & free agents, and I took care of the overall composition & image treatment. This was used as a social graphic and social headers on Penn State Football's Twitter and Facebook accounts.
I created this motion graphic to help recap Penn State Football draft picks at the NFL Draft.  I recycled the still graphics and incorporated motion to give it new life & catch the eyes of our audience on social media.
