The Recharge Philly Project

The design intent of this project is to create a cohesive unit that can be adhered to existing bus stops in the Philadelphia area. The unit will provide awaiting passengers with solar energy to recharge their electronic devices and a filtered rainwater station to provide fresh drinking water.
The unit is composed of three systems: a solar paneled roof, a stainless steel rainwater catchment system and a wooden bench with power outlets
The rainwater catchment component will include a filtration system. The angled rooftop will help collect rainwater, which will be filtered through a series of coarse screen filters as it makes its way the storage tank. A foot pump will allow users to access water with no use of electricity
The rooftop solar panels will provide electricity for 6 power outlets, which are adhered to the front of the bench.
The solar paneled roof will collect rainwater through a series of stainless steel planes.
