Recycling Project - The Fence Lights

For this project, we were asked to visit the recycling centre and pick a singular object to work with. I chose a wooden ruler and decided to experiment with the material and the form.
I experimented with various joints and angles to join multiple rulers together, but I wanted to go beyond the rigidity of the ruler. I made long vertical cuts along the long side, which resulted in a somewhat flexible form and allowed me to make this fan-shaped module.
I combined these modules in a conical shape which produced the final form for my light. I cleaned up the shape, added a bulb and spray-painted it to reach the end-product - "The Fence Light".
