Biomimicry Visualization

The biomimicry idea is capillary action, which is influenced by the tree and thorny devil lizard. These compositions began by being mainly monochromatic, (tints and shades of blue) to stress the concept of water. However I modified the color scheme to feature complementary colors, (orange-blue), which now emphasizes the blue water and brings in the influence of the Thorny Devil Lizard. Additionally, I added a ‘zoom in’ of the scientific principle of water moving upwards due to the surface tension force. The general principle is: the smaller the tube the higher the liquid rises. Capillary action could be an innovative way of moving water upward for a more sustainable future.
I chose to show the movement of water traveling up the Montreal Olympic stadium
as the building has a more organic shape compared to other buildings.
The geometric shape of this building allows for a symmetrical composition. The left side depicts the influence of nature and the right side represents the application of capillary action on the structures.
