Capturing the capture

The Animated loop.
It is really difficult when you try to make an animated loop because it has to end where it started which can be used as a metaphor itself. Below I have explained how I made it possible by clicking photo bursts, printing them, painting on them individually and finally digitally rendering them to make the GIF.

1. Photo bursts
Tried to capture the motion of zooming in while rotating for the transition to the next frames.
2. Painting over the printed Frames one by one (Rotoscoping)
The finger cut out was used in the final Animation.
3. Final Animated loop.
We have trained ourselves to take a picture or a video of whatever we find interesting on a daily basis instead of just experiencing it with our eyes. We are addicted to capturing things instead of experiencing them. This thought inspired me to make an animated loop which shows how our phone's camera has become our eye now. I used the process of Rotoscoping to paint 32 frames and then alligned them in Photoshop and After effects to make a smooth animated loop gif. Enjoy!
