Mystical Waves

The inspiration was to create a poetic piece as a manifestation of Persian Calligraphy and poetry that can alter the mood inspace. In order to do that, I used a line from one of Hafez’ poetries which has a mystical meaning in Persian. The first word of the Poetry is “Sayeh” which means Shadowand I wanted the shadow as a part of my design. So, I used the outline of the calligraphy to create the upper wave like form and hanged the words itself above it as if they are floating on top. I put the emphasis on the word “ ashegh” which means “lover” and echoed it on the piece to create a break in visual quality of the piece.
