SOLUTION
Electrical muscle stimulation is a treatment used in physical therapy for two main uses: pain relief and muscle re-education. An Electrical current is sent from a machine through adhesive patches that are placed on the skin and the current stimulates sensory or motor response to the nerves. This machine has several limitations. For example, it does not give feedback data, has multiple components to handle, and some machines are complicated to use. I chose to create TRODE, a wireless electrical muscle stimulation that would be connected to a smartphone by Bluetooth. The app will track the treatment given by the electrodes to ensure the improvement of the muscle or injury. Additionally, it will have a thermographic camera that will determine the state of muscular fatigue and the exact place of the injury for a better therapeutic control. TRODE includes 2 channels, 4 wireless electrodes, a package of patches, and the thermographic camera.
