In this project, I wanted to create a mask showing the contrast between convex and concave. I decided that sculpey would be the best option. I started with different explorations using the medium, and decided that this "barnacle-esque" pattern. I created a form out of spare metal to construct the mask on. After completing and burning the mask, I did some finishing touches with sandpaper and other buffering tools. I love how the mask turned out, the exposed holes create a way for the wearer to see through the mask. The continuous pattern of the "barnacles" makes the mask cohesive and complete.
