My first public “design” was a chair for Design Within Reach’s Veuve Cliquot competition. I was a finalist and my chair toured the country. Design blog Poetic and Chic wrote about my piece: 

“While they’re all terribly distinguée and clever-clever, my personal favorite is the Origami Chair by Martine Matejczyk - remember that name. Eames, Noguchi, Knoll, Matejczyk… It’s whimsical, elegant, delicate, balanced… Oh, and by the way, Martine is 11… Ten more years and she’ll be able to buy her own bottle of champagne!”
