3D Paper- Crystal Grove

My grove of little crystalline trees is meant to delight and disarm the viewer and, hopefully, to make room for the questions, "what do we have that is priceless? What is our shared wealth as a human species? Can such splendor belong to us at all?"

I chose crystal shapes because crystals also come from our planet, and represent unimaginable wealth. I painted the trees in diaphanous green acrylic which merely suggests the trees rather than depicting them as solid and realistic. This is intended to reiterate that this is not a magical grove of crystal trees but rather the idea of a forest.
