Maheshwari Letterform Design.

For our Third year Final Typography Project, we were given a set of 12 sarees namely, Bomkai, Paithani, Maheshwari, Kanjeevaram, Baluchori, Benarasi, Daboo, Bandhani, Madhubani, Phulkari, Chikankari and Jamdani. The brief was to choose one saree out of the above twelve and create a letterform design, using the selected saree as an inspiration. I chose to go with Maheshwari Saree, since i loved how simple yet elegant it looked.

This was a 40 day project where we were supposed to begin with designing the skeleton of the letter, add mass to it and in the end design the entire devanagri script.
