IVO Cutlery - Knife set (2009)

KENDO initially was a proposal of a collection of kitchen knives for the brand IVO Cutelarias, Portugal.
Developed as a designer in the CAL design team, it explored the application of cork, at the time innovative, as a structural material of the knife, sensoriality altering the manipulation of the object.
In addition to the object, in its specificities, it is endowed with new aptitudes closely associated with its use.
Despite the strong belief in this concept, it was only considered the added value of the use of cork.
The final design, carried out entirely in CAL, is a result of the development from the concept of the self-proposed project.
The collection is marketed taking on two names, Asian in the option with a nylon handle and Cork with a cork one.
