Asymmetrical Design

Through the Asymmetrical Typographic Design, I have learned a lot about how to make basic characters and numbers into something more. I learned how important creating outlines is, and how repetition can make something better. Then I learned the minus front, how to cut out a shape from another shape to change the fundamentals of a shape. Then I learned how to unite shapes, to just make those shapes more complex by adding. Then I learned how gradients can really be modified to fit anything. I learned how just differences in size can make something way different, adding to the complexity. I learned how to replace negative space of type. I learned how to use type to fill in a letter, and how to use type to make an outline of a letter. I learned how NOT to make an asymmetrical design, but making it symmetrical. Finally, I learned how few colors can make a project so much better, and more than a few colors can make a project look very bad. During this project I really changed lots of the colors, from the puke green to a purple, green, and yellow. I tried lots of new things through this, and moved, rotated, and changed shapes to make them much different than they were before.
