I made a rule for myself that every time I went to weld I had to use no more than an hour at a time for the day.  Part of the reason was to allow myself breathing room to actually look at the project from different angles.  I wanted to create a light that was difficult to do but also relatively easy to assemble.  I was inspired by the pendant open bulb design that was around Providence.
