This project is a portrait of a Missouri Fox Trotter gelding named Alpha. The watercolor background was painted by Alpha himself, and I drew his portrait on top of the watercolor. Alpha 'signed' his art in the lower right corner. The finished piece was given to Alpha's owner as a gift. I made sure to choose the colors that matches Alpha's personality or that represents him and his owner in some way. I also chose the pose based on his energetic spirit when he is turned out to run and play.
