When asked to repurpose a piece of garment and give it new meanings, I took inspiration from the dice patterns of the dress I made and created a game that revolve around it. Below is a detailed instruction of the game. If you don't want to read, just skip to the pictures:)
Rule of the Game:
The objective of the game is to get as many dice as possible, so that during the final round of the game you will have a greater chance of rolling the biggest number on your dice and winning the game. ( However, getting the most dice doesn't guarantee you success--a person who rolled 2 sixes still beats a person who rolled 5 twos.)
In the beginning of the game, the Queen/King of Dice (the player leading the game) will put on the dress, which should already have both the regular and special dice stored inside. She/ He will insert a random "Pocket card" in each pockets of the dress. If there are many players, the Queen may insert more than one Pocket cards in each pocket.
There are five types of pocket cards:
1. Number Card- Receive x number of dice depending on the number you draw
2. Shatter Card- Lose all but one dice.
3. Bomb Card- Under 5 seconds, you must roll the die until you get the number chosen by the Queen to deactivate the bomb.
If you fail, you are out.
4. Explode Card- Immediately out of the game.
5. Special Card- Receive a special color dice that doubles the number you roll.
Everyone will sit around the Queen/King of Dice with a die in their hand. At each round, the players will roll their dice, and the Queen will pick up a Game card that indicates who gets to pick a Pocket card. For example, a Game card may say something like "pick a Pocket card if you rolled the biggest number," and so whoever rolled the biggest number would have the chance to grab a card from any pockets he/she chooses. You may choose not to take a card or pass the chance to another player. There are risks to pocket cards and it's your decision whether or not to take that risk. The choice is up to you but the rest is up to fate! Make your decision carefully!
Within the Game cards, there are two special cards. The way they work is similar to gambling. The rules are simple: The players who choose to participate will put forth whatever amount of dice they choose to make a bet. If they won the bet, they receive more dice, and if they fail, they lose dice. For example, when you play the Lottery game card, you receive double the amount of dice you put out if you won the bet, and you don't get the dice that you put out back if you lose the bet. Bet and win double or lose it all...who knows? The fate is unpredictable but the dice are in your hand! Choose wisely and have fun!
