Silver Creative Group contacted me to do three illustrations of Brazilian fruits for the brand Zavu. I created the art using pencil, Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator.

Acerola fruit grows abundantly on drought tolerant, shrubby trees in the arid climates of Northeastern Brazil. Acerola’s sweet, yet tangy, fruit has more Vitamin C than any other known fruit. It might look like a cherry, but it has three pits and a mouth-watering tart flavor that when mixed with organic sweeteners creates a lip-smacking good fruit juice.

Caju fruit grows in Northeastern Brazil and is often discarded in the cashew nut harvesting process. This nutrient dense and fibrous fruit is soft and chewy which makes it hard to eat, but it is bursting with juice that is used in Brazil to make a refreshing beverage. An added bonus is that by using the fruit, ZAVU creates eco-efficiency by not letting the delicious caju go to waste.

Cupuacu fruit grows on trees under the canopy of the rainforest and a rock hard shell protects the creamy, sweet pulp until the fruit is totally ready to eat. The ripest cupuacu fall from the trees and gathering cupuacu extends the farming season for the local rainforest population. Cupuacu is a close relative of the cocoa family and the juice offers a hint of chocolate!
