Textiles Take Shape

  • Textiles Take Shape was a textiles and fibers-based explorative course involving recycled, unconventional materials and forms. This final project was a wall hanging created using discarded nautical rope, wire, hand-wrapped cording, hand-weaving, natural dyes and stains-- all connected together using crocheting techniques. The shapes are informed both by the natural hang of the materials, as well as a studio project completed earlier in the year for my field of study, Interior Architecture. The result is an organic, singular flowing object that has potential to be arranged in a number of configurations.
