On a mostly cloudy summer day, I took the opportunity to take photos of the lake and my family enjoying the slightly uncomfortable weather. Using inspiration from Man Ray, an American photographer known for his ties to the surrealist and dada movements, I went for odd angles and focusing of my surroundings to capture his style.
Sally Mann is also an American photographer. She works with large-scale black and white photographs and is known for working with children. I took photos of my family when they weren't paying attention or necessarily "ready" for me to shoot them. This gives off a slightly uncomfortable yet natural quality.
