Stacks - Vertical Desktop Storage Unit

This project primarily targets office workers and those who work from home. When looking at messy work desks, two problems emerge:

1. It becomes incredibly difficult to clean.
2. There isn't a lot of space for individuals to work around with.
During my research process, I wanted to look at what people have done to solve this issue of organizing the desk space. While these products certainly do make the desk seem more organized, many of them still take up a lot of space on the table because they're designed to organize objects horizontally.
With my research outcomes in mind, I began to design different forms, figuring out the best way to stack organizers together in a vertical manner.
I ultimately ended up modifying a common household object: the pen cup. By splitting the pen cup into multiple sections, I was able to provide room for storage spaces of various sizes as well as the option to expand the unit using modular slots.
The final prototype contains a box with a post-it note holder, a phone stand, a standard pen cup, a lesser storage space unit, and an extendable lamp. When not in use, everything could be stacked together to form a singular, vertical unit, saving desk space.
