With current news such as global warming and current events such as hurricanes, earthquakes and tornados; nature is ironic. Some people are constantly trying to protect and help nature, others are destroying it. Nature has a mind of its own. It can destroy and recreate. The natural man is part of natures cycle of creation and destruction. With this piece I wanted to create a dress that implied that it was to be a protective garment. To get the bark for the dress I scraped it off a tree so I was destroying something natural, the tree itself. Then using it to create this dress to then cover and protect another piece of nature, the body itself.
