Artistic fabric showroom of Marimekko
The main topic of thesis is a conceptual project of showroom’s Finnish brand Marimekko.
The goal of the design was creating innovative and practical functional separation. The work also includes the description of general lighting and commodity inside, which is one of the most important design issues in local.
Detailed design includes only the ground floor, the functional separation is only shown on the first floor. On the ground floor there is provided cash register, sell zone, goods exposition, place for consultation with the designer and the coffee corner. There is also included a toilet for customers and store employees. The upper floor provides section of women's and men’s clothing, also utility rooms, such as a social room and a warehouse.
The interior is spacious, the design of corridors between the shelves is intuitive. A string of communication in space sales provides comfortable moving and free access to the products. It is adapted to the requirements of disabled people.
The interior has been designed in Scandinavian style. The materials used in the project - such as oak wood, concrete, glass, have been obtained from natural sources. Cool colors is the perfect backdrop for colorful fabrics and a products of Marimekko brand. White color dominates - one of the most commonly used colors in Finnish interior.
Most of the furniture were designed by the author of thesis.
