Hahoetal '하회탈' Lamp
The lamp is inspired by the traditional Korean Mask worn in the traditional Korean mask dance. The base of the lamp resembles the mask known as 'Hahoetal'/'하회탈' and the lamp shade contradicts the soft, gentle grin on the mask by highlighting the sharp, brittle properties of the wood.

Used ash veneer to construct the lamp shade lamination.
Using a block of pine, I carved the base of the lamp. Drilled a hole on the forehead for the metal pipe to hold it in place.
Adding the final touches.
Putting in lighting fixtures to lamp shade.
