Instrumental Thursdays LP Artwork
The brief for this LP artwork was to simply 'create something cool'.
So I hung out in the studio with them, did some sketches, took some photographs, ate lots of pizza and used this as a starting point. I wanted to create a design that was timeless and reflected the album and the recording process - the sounds, instruments and the Thursday sessions that created it.
The album is an eclectic mix of sounds with tropical notes, live recordings, cosmic vibes, slightly twisted samples and mixes hints of hip hop, techno, dub and some African influences chucked in for good measure. I therefore kept the drawings spontaneous and fun to reflect the organic recording process and used positive, vibrant colours alongside some vintage collage images and playful hand-drawn typography.
