Untitled
2016
Dimensions: 4ft x 5ft x 4in
Materials: Charcoal, Masonite, Cardboard

This piece was inspired by the work of American painter Frank Stella. It plays with his democratic philosophy that everyone, regardless of their background, should be able to look at a piece of an art and enjoy it. It also challenges the notion of what is a painting versus a sculpture with the use of three dimensional protrusions from the surface, a trait that was also characteristic of Stella's work.
