Packaging Design
The Brief
This brief required the design of the packaging and branding for an Irish owned artisan vegan company, ‘Quinoa & Kale’. The resulting approach taken incorporates practical packaging which is easy to assemble with a combination of bold artwork and soft illustrations dressing the exterior.
The Concept
The diverse range of packaging elements demanded consideration for the environment and consumer, making the packaging 100% recyclable and compostable. Through research on the produce it was interesting to find quinoa originally comes from Peru, which heavily influenced the design process.
The design process was heavily influenced with Peruvian design and culture and combining it with the company’s home in Limerick, Ireland. This resulted in creating illustrations of both Limerick and Peruvian landmarks. The use of vibrant Peruvian patterns gives the design a modern abstract look. Fun and playful Llamas are dotted around the design, giving the brand a unique look and making it more attractive for both a old and younger audience
