As an exercise, I created an illustration derived from a six word poem in only a few hours. 

I first created the illustration in Adobe Illustrator to create the line work and fill in the mid-tones. After, I transferred the file to Adobe Photoshop to apply gradation to the mid-tones. To finish, I re-entered the file to Adobe Illustrator to apply the typography.
