Create a family tree incorporating at least 10 family members, however, it cannot resemble a tree or use photographs of the family members. Add motion or interactivity for extra credit. I chose to create a web-based interactive family trees centering around the eclectic paintings created by one of my distant family members. My thought process was to pull out several small vignettes from the paintings, creating individual still-life paintings and incorporate my own added imagery that represents a specific family member. I wanted the symbols I added to look visually similar to the existing painting. When hovering over specific scenes, I wanted the viewer to be able to explore deeper into what that object means, allowing them to click through a short biography, and return to the family tree.
