Solution Designing: The Sandwich Shop

Solution Designing: The Sandwich Shop

Team 5 had to design a solution for a problem. The team consisted of Matthew Stauder, Chloe Scherer, Tasha Lim, Jeremy Tatara. I personally created the infographic, graphics. I designed the project website and I also attempted to create a mock up of the actual program that would solve the problem stated in our group project. Now that I've learned about database, cgi forms, and python, making a prototype of this solution is plausible. See the full project here.
CONTEXT
This is the final project of INFO I-101. We were given a problem and we had to design a solution. Our prompt was: A local sandwich restaurant is gaining popularity in Bloomington. However, the company has no technology infrastructure to handle this growth

RESEARCH
After researching and conducting what technology can and should be used in a business like The Bloomington Sandwich Restaurant, our team decided to utilize a touch tablet at the entrance of the restaurant. From our survey that we had conducted, we found that many people have used touch tablets for ordering and they were satisfied with the tablet. Click here for a more extensive report.
OUTCOME
Along with being apart of the evolvement of restaurant business, The Bloomington Sandwich Shop would like to see an increase in their sales but also a way to efficiently handle more traffic. The conclusion was made that the touch tablet would be the most efficient way to order by making the line go faster, increasing sales. As an incentive to encourage our customers to use this new technology, we also designed a rewards system for our members where they get free items and discounts on their purchase.
INFOGRAPHIC
This project was designed before I had a handle on cgi forms, python, and html. Now that I know how to do that, designing an app for this is  plausible.
