PROJECT GOAL
My project goal is to enhance the user experience through a redesign of the Yelp bookmarking function for a minimalist and functional design.

DISCOVERY
To accomplish my goal, I needed to verify if the community shares similar views to mine regarding Yelp bookmarking. After interviewing potential Yelp users, my research shows that 86% of them use Yelp regularly. My research pool also shows that 55% of them regularly save a post or page for a restaurant in their bookmarks. As of no surprise, all 100% of users utilize a form of social media. Through my research, I found substantial evidence supporting a need for bookmarking functions, which could possibly relate back to social media.

Throughout the UX design process from research to product design, a number of items had to be revisited as new insight came to light.
The availability of a diverse community in their experience with the Yelp application limited my access to a more comprehensive study group. Although card sorting helped to generate a multitude of useful functions, only so many new ideas can be introduced while preserving the minimalist style.
What's most important is analyzing the input from appropriately selected Yelp users as they contribute throughout the UX design process. By comparing the initial project goals to the user needs, I can pull takeaways such as user stories, key features, and user testing. Through this ongoing review and redesign process, I can always return with new ideas and questions for my next iteration.
